If you are looking to buy a jumper, but like me are freaked out by the traditional doorway type, I recommend the Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo.  I love this thing.  It has so much going on, that it will keep your baby busy for those times you need a few minutes to yourself.

Safe baby gateIt is meant for babies who can hold their heads up unassisted and are not able to walk or climb, and this jumper is so much fun for them.  They can jump and play without getting bored because of all of the amazing features.

The fisher-price baby jumper has an overhead rainforest canopy of leaves and soft toys that hang down to encourage your baby to look up, and reach for things.  There are toys in five different areas all around the jumper and the seat pivots to allow your baby to explore and learn.

There are parrots, tigers, lizards, monkeys, elephants, leaves, balls, rattles, teethers, and it lights up and makes sounds when your baby jumps and plays to encourage them to learn cause and effect relationships.

The electronic toy in the front is brightly colored, and plays music to stimulate visual and auditory responses.  Your baby will love this jumper because it is so much fun, and they will be learning at the same time.  Whether you have a relaxed and observant baby who likes to sit back and take it all in, or an active baby who likes to bang and pull on everything in sight, they will be well entertained in the Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo .

This baby jumper has three different height settings making it not only safe as your child grows, but also useful for a long time.  The springs are padded, so you won't have to worry about your baby pinching their fingers in them.

I like that it is easy to move from room to room, and that it folds up for easy storage.  I am always a fan of baby toys that are low-maintenance.  It runs on three AA batteries that are not included, so make sure you have some handy.  You and your baby won't want to wait once you see this thing in person.

The jumping and spinning that your baby will be doing will help improve large motor skills, while getting baby's muscles ready for crawling and walking.  Your little one will be getting lots of exercise without you having to worry about them hanging from the doorway.  ( I can't believe my parents used one of those other baby jumpers!!!)

All of the bright colors, textures, and sounds the rainforest jumper has will nurture your baby's potential for learning through discovery, and will increase hand-eye coordination.  I have to say, that's a lot for a baby jumper.

This is one of the most popular baby items for a reason.  Every baby I have seen in the Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo has the same reaction.  Joy, and the biggest smiles you can imagine.  Happy babies make happy parents, so get one of these and take a few minutes for yourself while yours has some alone time to explore.

If you are shopping around for the best shower gift, this is one of the more fun ones.  You'll be sure to get a nice thank you card from the mom-to-be.  She'll be glad when she can put her baby down for some safe jumping fun.

As a mom of a two year old, I know how precious your baby's nap time can be. Whether you are a new mom in desperate need of sleep, or the parent of a toddler whose house looks like a bomb hit it, that time is precious and well deserved.

I can remember the first months when my daughter was napping, I had intentions of getting things done. I would patiently await her nap time with grand plans of doing the dishes, vacuuming, napping, or even showering, but the protective mom in me would kick in and I felt nervous being far away from my daughter for too long. I spent so much time trying to decipher […]

How to choose the best Breastpump

If you are planning to breastfeed your baby, you will most likely need to buy a breast pump. While there are many different kinds out there ranging from the single manual pumps, to the small electric ones, I have found that the Medela Pump in Style Advanced Breast Pump with Backpack is the way to go.

I can honestly say that out of all of the breastpumps I had tried, this was the only one that felt so close to nursing my own baby, which helped a great deal. At first I was using a simple manual pump, and it was so frustrating because I couldn't seem to keep my milk flowing. After that I switched to a small electric single pump, and it was a little bit better, but it seemed to only get my milk flow going for a very short time.  The unnatural feel of  them seemed to make it very difficult for me psychologically.[…]
