The Perfect Moses Basket

Tiddliwinks Moses Basket

For the first few weeks or months, while your baby is still pretty much immobile but also needs non-stop supervision I think every one should have a moses basket.  It's portable like a bassinet, but it is much smaller, lighter, and can be placed just about everywhere.  It's also very safe.

Search Market ShareNot only did I use mine for naps, or at bedtime while I was nursing, but sometimes when my baby got overstimulated I would lay her down and just let her relax.  The small shape of the Tiddliwinks Moses Basket is reminiscent of being in the womb, so it has a calming effect on your baby.  Sometimes the only thing I could do to get my baby to stop crying was to swaddle her in a blanket, and put her in the basket. She was so content in it, not to mention how adorable she looked.

The mattress pad and bumpers are nice and cushy, so your little one will sleep or just hang out comfortably.  This particular one comes with a sheet, the bumper pad and a fleece blanket and it is absolutely precious.  I like the green because it can be used for a boy or girl, but they do come in a few colors.

The handles are nice and strong, made of woven material that wraps right underneath from one side to the other to increase it's sturdiness so your little bundle can be transported safely from room to room.  It's great for bringing with you when you go visiting too, because of it's small size.

It measures only 8.5” H x 14.5” W x 28.5” L so if you want to keep one at grandma's or a caregivers house, they can easily store it away when it's not in use.  I even brought ours on a long road trip so that when we stopped at a hotel I could lay her down, and if I needed to change her diaper we could just pull over and grab it out of the trunk.  It was much easier than trying to change diapers on the back seat of the car.

All of the fabric is machine washable for spit-up, drool, diaper accidents, formula spills or anything else that could happen.  (All of which are inevitable.)

The Tiddliwinks Moses Basket is great for babies up to 15 pounds, but is not recommended for infants who have begun to roll over or pull themselves up.  I like this as a gift, because most people don't put it on their registry but anyone I know who has had one, loved it.

As a mom of a two year old, I know how precious your baby's nap time can be. Whether you are a new mom in desperate need of sleep, or the parent of a toddler whose house looks like a bomb hit it, that time is precious and well deserved.

I can remember the first months when my daughter was napping, I had intentions of getting things done. I would patiently await her nap time with grand plans of doing the dishes, vacuuming, napping, or even showering, but the protective mom in me would kick in and I felt nervous being far away from my daughter for too long. I spent so much time trying to decipher […]

How to choose the best Breastpump

If you are planning to breastfeed your baby, you will most likely need to buy a breast pump. While there are many different kinds out there ranging from the single manual pumps, to the small electric ones, I have found that the Medela Pump in Style Advanced Breast Pump with Backpack is the way to go.

I can honestly say that out of all of the breastpumps I had tried, this was the only one that felt so close to nursing my own baby, which helped a great deal. At first I was using a simple manual pump, and it was so frustrating because I couldn't seem to keep my milk flowing. After that I switched to a small electric single pump, and it was a little bit better, but it seemed to only get my milk flow going for a very short time.  The unnatural feel of  them seemed to make it very difficult for me psychologically.[…]
