Great Nursing Bra for all Sizes

Medela Sleep Nursing Bra

When I was pregnant I made the decision that I was going to breastfeed my baby.  I went out and tried on nursing bras when I was nearing my 8th month and was shocked at the prices.  I felt that I had no choice, though, because it was so difficult to find one that was actually comfortable.

nusing braAfter the birth of my daughter, my breasts tripled in size, and none of my expensive bras were even close to fitting me.  I found that they were either way too small, or just had no support for the times after feedings when they were a great deal smaller.  I was so annoyed.

I had no choice by to try to find a nice bra that would fit comfortable and add support all the time, not just sometimes.  I also wanted to find a bra that would be comfortable to wear to bed all night, and easy to get into while half asleep.  Reluctantly I ordered a Medela Sleep Nursing Bra, because it was different from a lot of the bras I had seen and tried already, and also because it was half the amount I had paid for my other useless bras. Much to my surprise it was great.

It has a racer back design, so it's like pulling on a sports bra with no crazy metal clasps and hooks that make sleeping even more impossible than it has to be.  If you are wearing nursing pads, they can easily be added. The cups are the draw back type, so no frustrating clasps to hook back together after your baby has finished.  This is very important for co-sleeping mothers who don't want to wake their baby.

The material is thin, and elastic, so it won't look incredibly bulky under your shirt and it keeps your breasts separated.  (Much better than the uni-boob I was becoming all too familiar with.)  It fits great and is hands down the best nursing bra I have found.  I wouldn't recommend it for larger breasted women for outside the house, because it may not offer the push up you prefer, but for around the house it is great.  For smaller chested women it is perfect for anywhere.

Just a heads up, the sizing for the Medela Sleep Nursing Bra runs a bit small.  Many women, including myself find that it is better to order a size larger if you are near two different sizes.  I actually ended up buying 4 of these, so that I would always have one clean and not have to rush to get it in and out of the laundry.  I hope you enjoy yours as much as I did.

As a mom of a two year old, I know how precious your baby's nap time can be. Whether you are a new mom in desperate need of sleep, or the parent of a toddler whose house looks like a bomb hit it, that time is precious and well deserved.

I can remember the first months when my daughter was napping, I had intentions of getting things done. I would patiently await her nap time with grand plans of doing the dishes, vacuuming, napping, or even showering, but the protective mom in me would kick in and I felt nervous being far away from my daughter for too long. I spent so much time trying to decipher […]

How to choose the best Breastpump

If you are planning to breastfeed your baby, you will most likely need to buy a breast pump. While there are many different kinds out there ranging from the single manual pumps, to the small electric ones, I have found that the Medela Pump in Style Advanced Breast Pump with Backpack is the way to go.

I can honestly say that out of all of the breastpumps I had tried, this was the only one that felt so close to nursing my own baby, which helped a great deal. At first I was using a simple manual pump, and it was so frustrating because I couldn't seem to keep my milk flowing. After that I switched to a small electric single pump, and it was a little bit better, but it seemed to only get my milk flow going for a very short time.  The unnatural feel of  them seemed to make it very difficult for me psychologically.[…]
