5 toyboxes under $100

When buying furniture for my child's room, I wanted to be sure not to spend a lot of money on things that I wasn't going to get a whole lot of use out of.  While with some baby and toddler items, you can use and re-purpose, or convert them, others really only serve one purpose.

Search Market ShareToy boxes for example only have one job, and while it is an important one, I just feel that no one should go spending a fortune on one.  I have looked around and found five very different styles of toy boxes for under $100, so that you won't be forced to sacrifice style for a great price.

I found this really playful boy version, it is the Tonka Toy Box with Back & 3 Bins.  It has a construction theme, so you know it is adorable, and it's very colorful so it would match pretty much any room.  It has three removable bins, so your child can dump the toys right out, or even take the bin with him to a different area of the house.  A definite plus to having the removable bins is that clean-up couldn't be easier.

Now a little love for the girls.  When I saw a picture of the Delta Enterprise Fairies 3-Tier Toy Organizer with Roll out Toy Wooden Box it was love at first sight.  My daughter is on a Tinkerbell kick right now, and the bold illustrations are amazing.  I ordered one right away as a special reward for her potty training effort.  I like that it's not too big, and the rolling toy bin is so unique.  It has three bins for toys and a storage shelf.  It is every little girl's dream.

If you are not into anything too “themey” as I call it, I suggest checking out this one. The Toy Box BY Jetson International Ltd is perfect.  It is just a simple, clean looking piece that will add character to your child's room without upstaging any of the other furniture you have.  The greatest thing about this one is that some day when your son or daughter no longer needs a toybox, it can be moved to any room in the house and will fit just about any décor.

The Little Tikes Primary Colors Toy Chest is one that is in a class by itself.  It is unlike any others that I have seen.  It's bright colors and durable plastic make it not only attractive but also tough.  It has a detachable lid, and removable drawers on the bottom so that cleaning it will be easy and it has a capacity of 6 cubic feet.  I love the idea of plastic because of all the unexpected spills and messes that occur with small children.

Last but definitely not least is the Step2 Lift & Hide Bookcase Storage Chest.  This one is also made of strong, sturdy plastic, and from all of the reviews I've read parents are very pleased with the weight distribution.  It is bottom heavy so it is not easily tipped over.  It has a shelf on top for books or more toys, and nice rounded edges for your child's safety.  The best part?  It comes assembled, so all you have to think about is where you want to put it.

As a parent, I know how financially draining it can be to give your child all of the things you'd like them to have.  That is why I have taken the time to find a few really nice products that won't break the bank.  I think out of the five, one will be right for your little one.

As a mom of a two year old, I know how precious your baby's nap time can be. Whether you are a new mom in desperate need of sleep, or the parent of a toddler whose house looks like a bomb hit it, that time is precious and well deserved.

I can remember the first months when my daughter was napping, I had intentions of getting things done. I would patiently await her nap time with grand plans of doing the dishes, vacuuming, napping, or even showering, but the protective mom in me would kick in and I felt nervous being far away from my daughter for too long. I spent so much time trying to decipher […]

How to choose the best Breastpump

If you are planning to breastfeed your baby, you will most likely need to buy a breast pump. While there are many different kinds out there ranging from the single manual pumps, to the small electric ones, I have found that the Medela Pump in Style Advanced Breast Pump with Backpack is the way to go.

I can honestly say that out of all of the breastpumps I had tried, this was the only one that felt so close to nursing my own baby, which helped a great deal. At first I was using a simple manual pump, and it was so frustrating because I couldn't seem to keep my milk flowing. After that I switched to a small electric single pump, and it was a little bit better, but it seemed to only get my milk flow going for a very short time.  The unnatural feel of  them seemed to make it very difficult for me psychologically.[…]
